Your vote counts

Today is the Victorian State Election. Don’t forget to vote!

Note: This is simply a post so the November archive isn’t empty, it’s not because I care lots about the election. The last few months have been very busy and thus, I (obviously) have not spent a lot of time writing in this blog.

Happy birthday to me

Today is my birthday. I had a very nice day with cool pressies and a lovely dinner with the family.

Now, considering I’m due for a quater-life crisis, I think I need to buy a sports car.  An Aston Martin would be sufficient I think.

AAMI

We got the car back yesterday. When I went to pick it up, the guy (Tony) told me they were still waiting on a part (a sticker to put on the door sill to stop it getting scuffed). I think that’s what they have been waiting on for the last two weeks, but because Jane had a spac attack at AAMI, they wanted to get it back to us with or without the sticker. So it’s good to have the car back, but now we have to take it back to the shop in Nunawading when the sticker is finally delivered, yet another inconvinience.

As far as the repairs are concerned, they seem to be pretty good. It drives fine, but I still need to have a carful inspection of the body work to make sure it’s all spot on.

AAMI is a lump of turd

It’s time for a little bit of venting. As you may or may not know, Jane had quite a sizeable accident in the Golf back on Feb 1st. Now, 8 weeks later, the car is still being repaired. We were told all sorts of tall tales in an attempt to justify the long delay:

First, all the parts were in an work was getting underway. This was in about Week 2. Next, they had to wait for parts from Germany. Then, it was waiting for parts from Japan. Now, it has to go back to the mechanics because they buggered something up during the first 7 weeks they were working on it.

Today they have given an 80% certain delivery date of Monday, April 3rd. If thet fails, they guarantee 100% that it will be ready on Tuesday. I hope for AAMI’s sake that it is ready, because Jane’s about ready to tear them a new one!

Needless to say, AAMI will have to work pretty hard to convince me that they derserve to have our custom for the new home and contents insurance, not to mention convince me not to move to a new insurer for the car as well.

I’m looking forward to filling in the customer feedback survey!

Bad service

Let’s see how powerful “word of mouth” is to spread the news about bad customer service.

A friend of mine, who shall remain nameless, has recently had a nasty time trying to get a refund from a well known online cosmetics store, in particular, strawberrynet.com. The problem started because she was sent the wrong product. She emailed the store immediately and it supplied a return postal address and promised a full refund (as per its returns policy). The goods were returned by post and no refund eventuated.

After more emailing, SN claim the package never arrived and has refused to refund the cost of the product.

The saga continues…
