Welcome to summer, have a tissue

Today is the first day of summer, and I have a cold. What a bugger.

A special hello should go out to Liz, because it’s her birthday today. Happy Birthday Liz!

And because it’s summer, why not talk about the drought. Below is a clipping from the newspaper that looks at the drought in an interesting way. You’d expect a comment like that from a Queenslander, but not from a Victorian.

New colours…again

After a family meeting last night, it was decided that the “Reds and Browns” colour scheme was a bit like a pile of poo. So with the help of everyone, a few large pizzas and a few Boags Draughts, we came up with this new colour scheme. I will call it “Carbon Inspired”, because the base charcoal-y colours are pinched straight from the Carbon theme by Mincel for Gallery2.

This has the added advantage that I might be able to integrate my Gallery more easily while using the Carbon theme (which incidently is my favourite one). It’s a steep learning curve and is taking longer than I had first thought but I’ll get the eventually.

If you want to download this theme, you can do so from the Themes page.

About the wedding

Well, it’s Sunday night and the wedding is over. The post-wedding BBQ was on today and that’s now finished too. I believe it’s safe to declare the entire weekend as a huge success. The bride was beautiful and her groom scrubbed up pretty well also.

The ceremony was well done and not too long, but the real fun was at the reception. Yummy food, nice wine, rocking music, lots of dancing, wonderful company and an excellent venue all helped to make one very cool party.

As per usual, I went beserk with the camera and ended up with about 700 photos at the end of the night. About 100 were not worth a second look and got deleted immediately, but there were some pretty good ones in the remaining 600 (if I do say so myself!). I have put most of them up in the Gallery (click here to go there now).

The Wedding

Today is the big day for Ben and Leanne. The wedding starts at 2pm, hopfully it isn’t raining. The forcast says 16 degrees and a few showers. Bummer.

Even if it is raining it should be a heaps fun day.

I will post photos very soon.

Jane is beautiful…

…it’s as simple as that!
