I can’t see the light…anymore

Last week a good friend of ours gave us a quote to fit all the windows in our house with Holland blinds. We currently have a mix of old bed sheets, hand-me-down curtains, and nothing covering our windows. The price was very good and we will be booking them in this week.

I should mention that the good friend actually works for a blind company and is able to supply the product, rather than just guessing a price and leaving it at that.

I think we had better put off building the deck we have been wanting for at least a few more months.

The sound of evolution

I studied biology at school and university. I believe in the theory (science) of evolution and don’t believe in Creationism or Intelligent Design. That being said, I consider Charles Darwin’s Origin of Species to be one of the most significant pieces of writing ever penned.

Admittedly, I have never read the book. In fact, I’ve never even flicked through a copy of it. But now, thanks to the hard work of the LibriVox volunteers I can sit on the train or in the car and listen to the audio book version of Origin of Species on my iPod or other portable music device.

Get the audio book here.
